Location: Bucharest, Romania
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (DOE)
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of an international renewable energy developer for an experienced BESS Project Manager to take ownership of utility-scale battery storage projects across Romania.
You'll manage the full project lifecycle, engineering and design, procurement, construction, commissioning and grid connection, while keeping HSE, budget and timelines firmly under control.
This role is based in Bucharest with regular travel to project sites, and suits someone who wants to be genuinely hands-on with delivery rather than managing from a distance.

Supervise EPC contractors, subcontractors and Owner's Engineer teams to ensure quality construction and schedule adherence
Oversee technical design review of battery storage systems, auxiliary facilities and substation integration
Enforce a strong HSE culture and ensure compliance with local and international regulations
Act as the main point of contact for grid operators, local authorities, consultants and internal stakeholders
Coordinate FAT/SAT, cold and hot commissioning, and grid-code compliance testing
Track budgets, procurement milestones and risk registers, reporting to senior management
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering
Demonstrable, hands-on experience delivering utility-scale BESS projects (essential, candidates without direct BESS experience won't be considered)
Strong understanding of HV/MV substations, grid integration and EPC contract structures
Fluent English; Romanian language skills a significant advantage
Full working rights in Romania/EU required
Valid driving licence, with willingness to travel regularly to project sites near Bucharest
What's on Offer
A high-impact leadership role on large-scale energy storage assets in a booming sector
Genuine autonomy within a fast-moving, international business
Competitive salary, dependent on experience
