Project Quantity Surveyor - London

An established independent property and construction consultancy in London is looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their growing cost management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Project Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of projects while working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment delivering a varied range of property and building commissions.

The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will provide professional cost management services from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. Working directly with clients, consultants and contractors, the Project Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for maintaining commercial control while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in line with client objectives.

This position would suit a Project Quantity Surveyor with solid UK consultancy experience who is ready to manage their own commissions and develop stronger client-facing responsibilities. The consultancy offers a close-knit professional environment where the Project Quantity Surveyor can gain broad project exposure, work alongside experienced property professionals and continue progressing towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Project Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Preparing feasibility estimates, detailed cost plans and project budgets

Producing tender documentation and managing procurement processes

Undertaking valuations, change control and cost reporting

Negotiating variations and agreeing final accounts

Providing commercial and contractual advice throughout project delivery

Attending client, design team and site meetings

Managing commissions independently while maintaining strong client relationships

Project Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

Strong experience within a UK PQS or cost consultancy environment

Ideally working towards MRICS through the RICS APC, with chartered candidates also welcomed

Sound knowledge of JCT contracts, procurement and cost management procedures

Confident managing projects through both pre- and post-contract stages

Strong communication, organisation and client-facing skills

Able to manage workloads independently within a collaborative consultancy team

In Return:

£55,000 - £65,000 per annum

London-based consultancy position
