Purchasing Assistant 📍 Kingswinford | Full-Time | Manufacturing Working hours: 08:30 – 17:00 (Monday – Thursday) & 08:30 – 14:30 (Friday) Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum We are a well-established and growing manufacturer based in Kingswinford, seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced industrial environment. The Role As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the day-to-day activities of the Purchasing Department, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently and delivered on time. Key Responsibilities * Raise purchase orders in line with the company’s authority matrix * Support procurement of consumables such as stationery, workwear, and packaging * Expedite purchase orders (UK and overseas) to ensure timely delivery * Maintain and update progress notes within the ERP system * Ensure order confirmations are received, reviewed, and stored correctly * Review material certificates and update ERP records accordingly * Liaise with suppliers to manage shipping documentation and delivery timelines * Arrange and monitor import shipments * Communicate ETA updates to internal stakeholders * Work closely with logistics and transport providers to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions * Maintain accurate supplier and shipping records * Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Department * Work in line with company values, promoting a safe and sustainable working environment Key Skills & Experience * Minimum 1 year of purchasing/procurement experience * Experience within manufacturing (fastener industry experience desirable) * Understanding of import/export processes and documentation * Strong organisational and administrative skills * Excellent communication and supplier management abilities * Experience using ERP systems is advantageous What We Offer * Competitive salary (dependent on experience) * Opportunity to develop within a growing manufacturing business * Supportive and team-focused working environment * Ongoing training and career progression opportunities
