Purchasing & Stores Manager Location: Barnsley An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing & Stores Manager to join a leading manufacturer, supporting global supply chain operations at a state-of-the-art facility. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and coach the purchasing team. * Manage a £10M+ supplier portfolio. * Negotiate contracts with suppliers. * Oversee internal logistics and stock control. * Develop and implement purchasing strategies. * Maintain a global supplier base with dual-source suppliers. * Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards. * Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. * Ensure accurate inventory and stock control. * Support product development and supplier recovery. * Ensure compliance with ISO standards. * Manage slow-moving and obsolete stock. Qualifications & Experience: * 5+ years in senior purchasing or supply chain roles. * Experience purchasing steel, welded fabrications, and machined components. * Strong knowledge of MRP systems and stock control. * Proven contract negotiation skills and cost reduction experience. * Ability to travel globally for supplier management. Desirable: * CIPS qualification (or working towards). * Experience with open-book costing.
