Quality Control Team Leader Poole About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Control Team Leader to lead their QC Inspection Department within a busy and fast-paced engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving product quality, team performance, and continuous improvement across the inspection function, while fostering a proactive, supportive, and high-performing team culture. Key Responsibilities as Quality Control Team Leader Lead and manage the Quality Control Inspection team on a day-to-day basis Raise quality concerns promptly to the Quality Engineer and contribute to effective solutions Set clear targets, deadlines, goals, and objectives for each team member Conduct appraisals, performance reviews, and ongoing development discussions Identify training needs within the team and coordinate appropriate development actions Allocate and coordinate workloads to meet production and customer requirements Drive continuous improvement initiatives across inspection processes and procedures Identify opportunities to optimise processes and increase efficiency Promote and maintain high product quality standards throughout the department Support root cause analysis activities using tools such as 5 Whys and structured problem-solving methods Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards Apply knowledge of MSA (Measurement System Analysis), Process Capability, and SPC (Statistical Process Control) Manage COSHH requirements and support risk assessment processes Ensure compliance with relevant UK Health & Safety legislation Conduct and support internal audits (Internal Auditor qualification required)About You as Quality Control Team Leader To be successful in this role, you will: Have proven experience leading a Quality Control or Inspection team within a mechanical engineering environment Be both a strong team leader and an effective team player Demonstrate tenacity, accountability, and a proactive mindset Be technically minded with a strong mechanical engineering background Think outside the box and take a forward-thinking, solutions-focused approach Be confident working autonomously while supporting wider business objectives Have strong exposure to Health & Safety legislation Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines Have experience with continuous improvement methodologies and quality tools Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced engineering environmentWhat We Offer as Quality Control Team Leader The opportunity to lead and shape a key department within a respected engineering business A values-driven company culture that takes pride in its reputation for excellence A supportive leadership team Ongoing professional development A dynamic and engaging working environmentIf you are a motivated quality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for driving excellence, we would love to hear from you.
