Quality Engineer Coventry Up to £40,000 P/ a Overview We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, international engineering manufacturer based in Coventry. The role will play a key part in maintaining quality standards, driving compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across production operations. This is a hands-on position suited to someone comfortable working closely with Production and Engineering teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. There is a clear scope for progression for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Compliance - Conduct inspections of raw materials, components, assembled modules and pipe spools. - Verify product compliance against technical specifications, engineering drawings and applicable standards. - Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and relevant industry requirements. Non-Conformance Management - Identify, document and manage internal and supplier non-conformances. - Lead root cause analysis activities using 8D, 5 Whys or similar structured methodologies. - Define, implement and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Manufacturing Process Support - Work closely with Production, Engineering and H&S to maintain robust and safe processes. - Review and update Work Instructions, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection plans and quality procedures. - Support process validation activities and approval of new materials or suppliers. Documentation & Reporting - Prepare quality reports, KPIs and trend analysis. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with audit requirements. - Support internal and external audits as required. Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to optimise processes and reduce waste. - Promote and embed a strong quality culture within the Off-Site Fabrication team. Technical Requirements - Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, dimensional control and metrology. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. - Experience with Lean tools and structured problem-solving methodologies. - Desirable: Experience with welding, steel structures or mechanical fixings
