NexGen Consultancy are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector on behalf of a well established subcontract precision engineering company based in Luton. Established in 2008, our client specialises in high quality CNC turned and milled components supplied into demanding sectors including aerospace, defence, medical and motorsport. Operating within an ISO 9001 accredited environment, the business continues to invest heavily in advanced machining and metrology equipment, supporting both prototype and high volume production. This is a hands on inspection role suited to someone comfortable working closely with production in a fast paced, high precision environment. Hours of Work: Mon - Thurs 7:30-5 pm Friday 7:30 - 12 pm The Role: You will be responsible for supporting the quality department with inspection activities across the shop floor, ensuring components meet strict customer and industry standards. Key responsibilities include: - Carrying out first off, in process and final inspections - Line inspection and shop floor quality support - Using a range of manual measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges - Completing inspection reports and quality documentation - Supporting traceability and quality records in line with ISO standards - Working closely with machinists and production teams to resolve quality issues - Assisting with CMM inspections where required Requirements: - Previous experience in a Quality Inspector role within precision engineering - Strong experience using manual measuring equipment - Experience carrying out first off and in process inspection - Understanding of tight tolerances and machined components - CMM experience is desirablr - Experience with Aberlink software desirable but not essential - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - Strong attention to detail and quality mindset The Company: Our client is a modern, forward thinking precision engineering business with a strong reputation for quality and reliability.
