The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international engineering and construction contractor on a major data centre project in Mons, Belgium.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale, mission-critical development, taking responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of project packages. You will work closely with the construction team, subcontractors, clients and other departments to ensure costs are controlled, variations are accurately valued and commercial targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial and quantity surveying activities across assigned project packages.
* Review, prepare and manage subcontract documentation, ensuring contractual compliance.
* Price Mechanical and Electrical tenders and support estimating activities.
* Prepare reliable turnover, cost and cash flow forecasts.
* Review project cost plans to ensure target margins and contributions are achieved.
* Liaise with clients, main contractors, subcontractors and internal departments.
* Identify commercial trends, risks and opportunities and report accordingly.
* Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and graduates.
* Improve commercial processes and best practice across the project.
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
* 3–5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
* Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Previous data centre or mission-critical construction experience would be advantageous.
