Quantity Surveyor

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading PLC residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a new build residential project in Headington, Oxfordshire on an initial 3-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven QS to join a well-structured commercial team and hit the ground running on a live scheme. The Role As Freelance Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day commercial management across the project, supporting delivery from a cost and contract perspective. Typical duties will include: * Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and payments * Administering contracts and managing variations / change control * Supporting cost reporting and forecasting * Assisting with budget management and cost-to-complete updates * Working closely with the site and project teams to ensure commercial performance * Handling interim valuations, final accounts and subcontractor negotiations About You Our client is looking for a QS who can step in quickly and add value from day one. The ideal candidate will have: * Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor on new build residential schemes * Strong knowledge of subcontractor packages and cost control on housing developments * Local / regional experience in Oxfordshire (or surrounding areas), with a strong understanding of the residential market in the area * Confident communication skills and the ability to work autonomously * A professional, solutions-focused approach and strong commercial awareness Contract Details * Location: Headington, Oxfordshire * Duration: 3 months (initial) * Status: Inside IR35 * Start: ASAP / short notice considered If you’re an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in new build residential developments in and around Oxfordshire, and you’re available for a 3-month inside IR35 assignment, we’d like to speak with you.
