This is a field-based role covering supermarket sites across Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Dudley, Leicester, Nottingham, Northampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall, and Wolverhampton, engineers can be based anywhere across the Central region, focused on keeping refrigeration systems operating safely and efficiently. What you’ll be doing as Refrigeration Engineer * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across multiple stores * Responding to reactive refrigeration faults and breakdowns * Diagnosing issues on CO₂ refrigeration pack systems * Working on integral refrigeration units and cold rooms * Completing repairs and small installation or modification work when required * Identifying long-term issues and advising on appropriate repairs or replacements What’s on Offer for an experienced Refrigeration Service Engineer * Basic salary up to £50,000 * Door-to-door pay * Overtime paid at time and a half * Company van with private use * Tools and PPE supplied * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Ability to book Christmas and New Year off * Private healthcare * Pension with 5% matched contribution * Life assurance * Employee benefits platform What We’re Looking for in a Refrigeration Engineer: Essential experience & qualifications * NVQ / SVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent) * F-Gas Category 1 certification (C&G 2079-1) * At least 3 years’ experience working on supermarket refrigeration systems * Experience with packs, integrals and cold rooms * Full UK driving licence Desirable * CO₂ refrigeration training or certification Hours: * You’ll work a 42.5 hour week This role suits an engineer who already understands large supermarket refrigeration systems and wants to work on a stable contract with clear expectations and strong earning potential.
