Job Title: Remedial Plumber – Water Hygiene Location: London & Surrounding Areas Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus bank holidays Role Overview We are currently working with a well-established compliance and water management specialist who is looking to recruit an experienced Remedial Plumber to join their growing team covering London and the surrounding areas. This position is ideal for a qualified plumber who has experience carrying out remedial works within water hygiene or Legionella compliance environments and is looking to further develop their career within the sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of remedial plumbing works across both commercial and residential client sites, ensuring domestic water systems remain compliant with current legislation and industry best practice. This role will involve travelling to a variety of sites throughout London, carrying out both planned and reactive remedial works, while working closely with the wider water hygiene team. Role Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of remedial plumbing works designed to ensure water systems remain compliant with Legionella control guidelines. This will include the removal of dead legs from domestic water systems, pipework modifications and upgrades, servicing, installation and replacement of thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), as well as the installation and replacement of point-of-use water heaters. You will also carry out repairs and replacements of cold water storage tanks where required, along with pipe insulation and lagging works and other general plumbing repairs associated with water hygiene compliance. Alongside remedial plumbing works, you may also support the wider water hygiene team with tasks such as calorifier inspections and blowdowns, expansion vessel flushing, and assisting with tank cleaning or chlorination works when required. The role will involve working across multiple client sites, so the ability to manage your own schedule, work independently and maintain high standards of workmanship is essential. You will also be responsible for completing job reports and site documentation using mobile devices, ensuring all work carried out is accurately recorded and compliant with company procedures. Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site and representing the company in a professional manner when dealing with clients and site contacts will also form an important part of the role. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, or an equivalent recognised qualification, and will have proven experience carrying out remedial plumbing works. A good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG 274 guidelines relating to Legionella control would be highly beneficial, along with experience working within water hygiene or water treatment environments. You should be comfortable working independently across multiple sites, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills are important as the role will involve regular interaction with clients and colleagues. Basic IT skills will also be required to complete digital job sheets and reports. A full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
