Tennial Personnel are recruiting for a reliable and hard-working Property Renovation Assistant to join our client on an ongoing temporary basis, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch). The role offers £12.71 per hour, with work expected to continue for several months depending on project progress.

This is a hands-on opportunity supporting the renovation of a large 200-year-old countryside property near Laxfield, Suffolk, working directly alongside the property owner on a day-to-day basis. This is not a large-scale development project, but a focused renovation of a single historic building requiring practical, physical support.

The property is located in a rural setting accessed via a private driveway approximately half a mile long, around a 30-minute walk from Laxfield village centre, therefore own transport is strongly recommended.

The role involves a mix of demolition, clearance, and general renovation support work, within a dusty and physically demanding environment. It would suit someone practical and comfortable working in hands-on labouring conditions.

This role offers variety, with scope for additional responsibilities for candidates who are practical, adaptable, and willing to take initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out general labouring and renovation support tasks across the property

Assist with demolition and stripping-out works

Support installation of stud walls, plasterboard, insulation, and services

Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Load and unload materials and waste into skips

Work closely with the property owner to complete daily tasks efficiently

Follow instructions and adapt to changing site requirements

Skills Required

Comfortable working in dusty, old property and renovation environments

Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively

Physically fit and capable of manual handling and labouring duties

Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy

Positive and proactive “can-do” attitude

Able to follow instructions and work independently when required

Good awareness of health and safety practices on site

Qualifications Required
Previous experience in labouring, construction, DIY, or renovation work is beneficial but not essential

Must be physically capable of manual work in a demanding environment

Own transport is strongly recommended due to rural location

Non-smoker preferred

Safety footwear required (boots or safety trainers with anti-perforation soles preferred)
