Responsible Individual – Children’s Residential Homes
Location: West Midlands
Contract: Full-time
£67-70k per annum

Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting on behalf of a growing children’s care provider seeking an experienced and ambitious Responsible Individual to oversee a small portfolio of residential homes across the West Midlands.

The Role
As Responsible Individual, you will provide strategic oversight across 2–3 children’s homes, ensuring each service operates safely, effectively, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
You will work closely with Registered Managers, offering both support and challenge, while embedding a strong culture of safeguarding and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Ofsted Responsible Individual for multiple homes
Provide leadership, direction, and governance across services
Support and develop Registered Managers to achieve high performance
Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
Drive a culture of child-centred care and safeguarding excellence
Monitor quality, outcomes, and performance across homes
Lead audits, inspections, and improvement plans
Build strong relationships with local authorities and stakeholders
Contribute to the development and opening of new services
About You

Experienced within children’s residential care and ready to step up
Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and inspection processes
Background as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or senior leader
Confident overseeing multiple services or teams
Passionate about achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes
Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
Qualifications

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) (or working towards)
Relevant Health & Social Care qualification
In-depth understanding of safeguarding and child protection
