Room Manager – Toddlers Room

Location: Penge (SE20)
Salary: £33k - £35k + per annum DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Mon - Fri, Permanent (40 hours per week)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and welcoming nursery in Penge (SE20) for an experienced Room Manager to lead their busy Toddlers Room.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Early Years professional who enjoys leading a team, delivering high-quality childcare, and creating a positive learning environment where children can flourish.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the day-to-day running of the Toddlers Room, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.

* Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

* Support, mentor and supervise room staff, promoting a positive and collaborative team culture.

* Monitor children's learning and development through observations and assessments.

* Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children's progress.

* Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are adhered to at all times.

* Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.

* Work closely with the Nursery Manager and senior leadership team to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Requirements

* Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above) – essential.

* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in an Early Years setting, ideally with room leadership or senior practitioner experience.

* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting).

* Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child development.

* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

* A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach to childcare.
