School Cleaner

We are recruiting reliable, experienced cleaners to work in schools across Leeds and Castleford on short- to medium-term contracts. These roles require people who can turn up, work hard, and follow instructions in a school environment where standards and safeguarding matter. This is not casual cleaning work. Experience is expected. Key Responsibilities * General cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, and communal areas. * Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to a high standard. * Cleaning and sanitising touch points and high-traffic areas. * Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly. * Using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly. * Following school health & safety and safeguarding procedures at all times. * Locking up and securing areas where required. Person Specification Essential * Previous professional cleaning experience (school or commercial preferred). * Ability to work independently and complete tasks to a high standard. * Reliable, punctual, and consistent — no excuses. * Physically capable of manual cleaning duties. * Basic understanding of health & safety procedures. * Willingness to work in different school settings across Leicester. Desirable * Previous experience cleaning in schools or similar environments. * Knowledge of COSHH. * Flexibility to accept short-notice bookings. Safeguarding & Compliance * Enhanced DBS check required. * Two references required, including most recent employer. * Proof of right to work in the UK required. * Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment for children.
