Supply Desk is working in partnership with a supportive and well-regarded secondary school in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher for a September start.

This role is ideal for a passionate science specialist who enjoys engaging students in practical and theoretical learning and is dedicated to helping pupils develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific concepts.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring pupils and supporting strong academic progress.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging science lessons in line with the National Curriculum
Teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (specialism considered)
Preparing students for assessments and GCSE Science
Delivering practical lessons safely and effectively
Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
Differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning needs
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Working collaboratively within the science department and wider school team
Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Secondary Science (KS3 and/or KS4)
(ECTs welcome with relevant science placements)
Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline
Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
An enthusiastic, organised, and engaging teaching style
Availability to start in September
Ability to commute to Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire
