About the Role:
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Southend-on-Sea that is seeking a resilient and dedicated SEMH Teacher. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to re-engage with education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs

Create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional development

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals

Monitor and track student progress, adapting approaches where necessary

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (highly desirable)

Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach

Ability to inspire and motivate disengaged learners

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
