Semi-Senior Accountant

Job Title: Semi Senior Practice Accountant Location: Godalming, Surrey Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + benefits About the Opportunity A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Godalming is looking to recruit a Semi Senior Practice Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to further develop their career within a supportive and professional practice environment. Working closely with senior members of the team, you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industries, assisting with accounts preparation, tax work, and client advisory services. Key Responsibilities * Preparation of year-end accounts for a portfolio of SME clients * Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax and personal tax returns * Preparation of management accounts where required * Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation * Supporting senior accountants and managers with client work * Liaising with clients to request information and respond to queries * Assisting with maintaining accurate financial records and compliance requirements * Supporting the wider team with ad-hoc accounting assignments About You * AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA / ACA (or looking to start) * Previous experience working within an accountancy practice * Strong understanding of accounts preparation and basic tax principles * Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks * Strong attention to detail and organisational skills * Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach * Motivated to continue learning and progressing within practice What’s on Offer * Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience * Study support for ACA / ACCA (if required) * Exposure to a varied client portfolio * Friendly and supportive team environment * Genuine career progression within the firm Next Steps If you are currently working within practice and looking to take the next step in your career with a well-respected firm in Godalming, we would love to hear from you.
