Location: Northampton, Thrapston & surrounding NN postcodes

Pay: £90 – £110 per day (Competitive local rates) Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday, Term Time Only)

Contract: Full-Time Agency Cover with Permanent opportunities available

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As an SEN Specialist, you aren’t just a classroom assistant—you are a mentor and a guide. Your day-to-day will involve:

Targeted Support: Providing 1:1 and small group intervention for students with diverse needs (including Autism, ADHD, and PMLD).
Overcoming Barriers: Helping pupils navigate emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges with a calm, steady hand.
Inclusive Learning: Adapting materials and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure every child in Northamptonshire has the chance to thrive.
Collaboration: Working hand-in-hand with Northants-based teachers and SENCOs to create a safe, positive environment.
Who We Are Looking For

We need "people people"—those who remain calm under pressure and lead with empathy.

Experience: Previous experience in a school or care setting supporting SEN pupils is highly desirable.
Specialist Skills: Team Teach training and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) experience are a huge plus.
Mindset: A resilient approach with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations safely.
Compliance: A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one immediately).
