Location: Effingham, Surrey

Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 per year (M1 – UPS1 Fringe)

Hours: 40 hours per week - Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm

Start date: As soon as possible

Join a dedicated specialist school supporting students aged 11–16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) through a nurturing and inclusive approach. The school empowers young people to access the national curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs, while working towards meaningful vocational qualifications by the time they leave. We are seeking a committed Teacher with experience of ASC to deliver high-quality teaching and learning and help support pupils to achieve their full potential

Key Duties:

Deliver and adapt the curriculum to meet pupils’ educational, physical and social needs through effective short-, medium- and long-term planning

Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining strong communication with staff, parents/carers and external professionals

Set, monitor and review personalised learning targets, assessing and reporting on pupil progress in line with school and statutory requirements

Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons, reflecting on outcomes to continually improve practice

Contribute to reviews including EHCPs, Statements, PEPs and LAC meetings

Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge through ongoing CPD and awareness of current autism practice

Support curriculum development and model high standards of professionalism and behaviour

Manage delegated budgets responsibly and use school behaviour policies to address challenging behaviour in a calm, non-confrontational way

Skills and Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential

Experience working in a special school setting, particularly with pupils with ASC and SEND

Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to meet a wide range of needs

Ability to teach across multiple subjects
