Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant: South Ribble Area

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to put your academic knowledge and placement experience into practice? Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant searching for a rewarding new challenge? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position within a welcoming school in the South Ribble area.

This role involves working closely with small groups and individual children who have a range of Special Educational Needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their daily school life.

Key Information:

Pay Rate: £14.24 per hour

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30

Start Date: Immediate / September opportunities available

Location: South Ribble area

What the Role Involves:

Targeted Support: Working with small groups and individual children with diverse educational needs to deliver tailored interventions.

Overcoming Barriers: Helping pupils engage with learning by breaking down tasks and supporting their emotional and behavioural development.

Collaborative Working: Partnering with class teachers and the school Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to track pupil progress and adapt resources.

Psychology Graduates: Individuals who have completed school-based placements and want to build practical, hands-on experience for future careers in educational or clinical psychology.

Experienced TAs: Mainstream Teaching Assistants who want to specialise further or take on a deeper, more rewarding focus on SEN support.

Specialist SEN TAs: Professionals currently working in special schools who are looking to transition their unique skills and knowledge into a mainstream primary setting.
