SEN Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (UES1)

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Hayes is seeking an energetic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils with complex needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The school is a vibrant 3-form entry mainstream primary with a strong inclusive ethos. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to thrive. You will be working within a specialist SEN class, supporting children with a range of complex needs, in an environment that prioritises structure, consistency, and pupil wellbeing.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide targeted support within a specialist SEN class

* Work with children with a range of complex needs

* Support pupils in accessing learning tailored to their individual needs

* Use PECS and Makaton as key communication tools

* Assist the teacher in delivering structured, differentiated lessons

* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

* Promote independence, engagement, and confidence

* Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive environment

About You

* Experience supporting children with SEN and complex needs

* Level 2 or 3 qualification (Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years, CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)

* Essential: Experience using PECS and Makaton

* Energetic, proactive, and resilient

* Patient, adaptable, and positive

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
