SEN Teaching Assistant – Brent

Location: Brent, North West London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Brent. The school is committed to ensuring that every pupil receives the support they need to thrive both academically and personally. With a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and individual development, the school provides a nurturing environment where staff and pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential.

This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role:

* Provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of additional needs within the classroom

* Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups to support learning and development

* Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in school life

* Support the implementation of individual learning plans and EHCP targets

* Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence

* Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs

* Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction

* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support

What the School is Looking For:

* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential

* Experience working with pupils with:

* Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)

* Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

* Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

* Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

* A patient, caring, and resilient approach

* Confidence supporting pupils with varying levels of need and ability

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
