SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barras Heath, Coventry, CV2
Weekly Pay: £480 - £525
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-termLong Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Barras Heath, Coventry. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP, helping to manage communication and behavioural needs, while working towards reintegration into lesson.
This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil
Supporting a pupil with ASD and SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs)
Using visual strategies including Now & Next boards & Makaton
Supporting preverbal gestural language processing
Managing behavioural needs, including hair pulling incidents
Working towards reintegration back into phonics groups
Building positive relationships and promoting engagement in learning

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and SLCN
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong behaviour management skills
Ability to use visual communication strategies effectively
Experience working within a primary school setting
