EduTalent Group are supporting a primary school in Deal who are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 SEMH support for a Key Stage 2 pupil in Year 5, with an immediate start available.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will join a supportive and inclusive primary setting, working closely with a KS2 pupil who requires consistent emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

Job Description

* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 (Year 5) pupil with SEMH needs

* Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning

* Build a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil

* Assist the class teacher in delivering accessible learning activities

* Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce school routines

* Support social development and independence skills

* Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment

* Work closely with teaching staff and SEN leadership to follow individual support plans

Requirements

* Experience working with children or young people (SEN/SEMH experience desirable but not essential)

* Calm, patient and resilient approach

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* Ability to remain consistent and supportive in challenging situations

* Team player with a proactive attitude

* Genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

* Immediate start available

* Full-time role (Monday–Friday, term time only)

* £92–£102 per day (depending on experience)
