About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties. The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in creating a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support as an SEN Teaching Assistant
* Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated lessons
* Support students with EHCPs and individual learning plans
* Help manage behaviour positively and consistently as a Teaching Assistant
* Encourage student independence, confidence, and engagement
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting SEN
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for working with children and young people
* Ability to adapt and respond to individual student needs
Experience supporting specific needs such as autism or speech and language difficulties is highly desirable for this Teaching Assistant role.
