SEN Teaching Assistant – Room Lead Location: Waltham Forest Start Date: 1st April 2026 Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term Salary: Scale 4 (Point 7–9), Term Time Only Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (Room Lead) to take operational responsibility within a specialist provision for pupils with complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is confident leading a team, shaping a highly structured learning environment, and supporting pupils who make progress through small, meaningful steps. About the Role As the Room Lead, you will play a central part in the day‑to‑day running of a dedicated SEN space supporting pupils with a range of additional needs requiring a bespoke curriculum. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Supervise and deploy up to three SEN Teaching Assistants, ensuring consistent, high‑quality support. Curriculum Adaptation: Work closely with the inclusion team to adapt EYFS–KS2 curriculum content into sensory, accessible and engaging activities. The ability to mentor, guide and support a small team of TAs. A genuine passion for early childhood development and celebrating “small wins” with learners.
