SEN Teaching Assistant
The Role
The school are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is suitable for both part-time and full-time applicants, but you must be available to work between 8:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
This is an excellent opportunity for those with mainstream school experience who are looking to transition into a SEND setting. Some pupils present with complex behaviours associated with their additional needs, so patience, resilience, and a positive approach are essential.
Key Duties
Support pupils with MLD/SLD/ASD/PMLD in class, one-to-one, and in small groups as a Teaching Assistant.
* Assist with tailored learning programmes and daily routines.
* Support behaviour management while promoting independence and confidence.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.About You
Experience working with children or young people is essential, whether that be within a school setting or through a transferable role (for example, through sports coaching).
* Patient, resilient, and compassionate with a proactive approach expected from a Teaching Assistant that may be working 1:1 or with a group of children with additional needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
