Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time Portsmouth, Hampshire Monday to Friday | Term Time Only Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Portsmouth. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans Support children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, engaging learning environment Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where required The Ideal Candidate Has experience working with children in a primary school setting Has experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential) Is patient, empathetic, and resilient Has strong communication and teamwork skills Holds a relevant TA qualification (desirable) What We Offer A supportive and friendly school community Ongoing professional development and training opportunities The chance to make a genuine impact in a child’s educational journey Competitive salary dependent on experience This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible.
