We are currently recruiting SEMH and SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across specialist and mainstream settings in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in education while making a meaningful difference to young people who require structure, consistency, and support to succeed.
The Role
Supporting pupils with SEMH and SEND needs across a range of age groups (Reception to Year 11)
Assisting with personalised learning plans both inside and outside the classroom
Managing challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent, and professional manner
Building positive, trust-based relationships with pupils
Promoting engagement, resilience, and positive behaviour
Supporting a safe and structured learning environment
Candidate Profile
Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage behaviour confidently and professionally
Experience in education, SEN, care, youth work, or similar settings (desirable)
A proactive and solution-focused mindset
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
