SEND Learning Support - Northumberland

Leader Education are seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated outstanding school, supporting children and young people aged 3–19.
In this role, you will work closely with pupils with SEND, including those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), speech, language and communication needs, and physical or sensory challenges. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by providing targeted support, implementing specialist strategies, and enabling them to fully access a rich and well-resourced curriculum.
Pupils benefit from a primary-based learning model, designed to support both academic progress and personal development.
The standard working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:40 am to 3:40 pm, and Friday from 8:40 am to 2:40 pm, totalling 31.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will:
Possess a current DBS that is on the update system, or be willing to obtain one
Have relevant/transferable skills and experience
Assist the class teacher in delivering specialist teaching and interventions
Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
Work closely with the pupils, supporting them with their communication, social and emotional skills
Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and all members of staff
Be adaptable and committed to meeting the diverse needs of students
