Location: Featherstone, Wakefield & surrounding areas

Pay: £90 – £110 per day
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing, potentially until the end of the academic year

PK Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Support / Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist secondary resource provision. This setting supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges.

This is a hands-on, active role requiring individuals who are calm, adaptable, and confident in building positive relationships with pupils. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students’ development, engagement, and wellbeing throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
Manage behaviour in a calm, professional manner
Encourage participation in learning and daily activities
Work closely with teaching staff and follow structured guidance
Adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs
About You:
We are looking for candidates who:

Have experience working with children or young people, or relevant transferable experience (e.g. youth work, support work, residential care, sports coaching)
Are open to feedback and committed to professional development
Present themselves professionally and communicate effectively
Are flexible, reliable, and seeking long-term work
Can remain calm and resilient when supporting pupils with complex behaviour
Full support and ongoing CPD/training will be provided through a structured SEND development pathway, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in education.
