SEND Teacher – Specialist School
Birmingham | Full-Time | Permanent / Long-Term Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly supportive specialist school in Birmingham for an outstanding SEND Teacher to work with students with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Complex Needs and communication needs.

The Role:
As a SEND Teacher, you will lead a class of students with additional needs, delivering highly personalised learning tailored to EHCP outcomes and individual development goals.

You will create a safe, engaging and nurturing classroom environment that supports students academically, socially and emotionally while helping them build independence, confidence and life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver and assess engaging personalised lessons
Adapt teaching to meet a range of SEND including Autism, SLD and complex needs
Set individual learning targets linked to EHCP outcomes
Support communication, literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation and independence
Track progress and implement interventions where needed
Lead and deploy Teaching Assistants effectively within the classroom
Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external professionals
Prepare and lead annual review / EHCP meetings
Promote positive behaviour and safeguarding at all times
Contribute to the wider life and development of the schoolWe Are Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
Experience teaching pupils with SEND, Autism, SLD, SEMH or complex needs desirable
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
A creative, adaptable and child-centred teaching approach
Commitment to inclusive education and pupil progress
Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
