SEND Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support several of our specialist education partners in Morpeth area. About the Role You will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism (ASD), and Processing or Learning Difficulties (LD). Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you’ll help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop essential skills in a positive, inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalised one‑to‑one and small‑group support Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs Follow EHCPs and support plans to promote steady progress Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and behaviour Use visual supports, sensory tools, and alternative communication systems Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with staff Contribute to a calm, nurturing classroom environment Support pupils during transitions, break times, and off‑site activities Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence About You Passionate about supporting children with SEND Calm, patient, and positive under pressure Strong communicator who builds trusting relationships Proactive, flexible, and a supportive team player Emotionally resilient and reflective Requirements Willing to complete a DBS check or provide an updated certificate Able to provide two references Proof of right to work in the UK If this sounds like you, please apply via the link or email Megan.reilly.
