Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £93 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 19/10/2026
Hours: Term time, 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
A pupil making a choice, responding to an activity or taking part more independently can be a significant achievement. Transparency Education is seeking a PMLD SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school opportunity in Dartford.
You will support pupils aged 4–19 with profound and multiple learning disabilities and associated physical, sensory and communication needs. This is a hands-on role that combines individualised learning with personal care and practical support throughout the day.
Working with teaching and specialist colleagues, you will help pupils access sensory experiences and communicate in the ways that work for them. Relevant guidance and training will support tasks requiring specialist skills.
Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for personalised learning
• Use agreed communication methods and sensory resources
• Assist with personal care while protecting privacy and dignity
• Support mobility and feeding in line with care plans and completed training
• Observe engagement and wellbeing and share changes promptly
• Follow safeguarding, medical and risk-management procedures
Requirements
• Experience supporting PMLD or closely related complex needs
• Willingness and ability to undertake personal care
• A calm, compassionate manner and careful observation skills
• Experience of moving and handling or alternative communication is desirable
• An enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
