About the Role Our client is seeking two Senior Associate Wastewater Specialists to join their Wastewater Cost Assessment Team. These roles are key to supporting the assessment of major wastewater investment programmes across the UK water sector. You will play a vital role in evaluating company investment plans, analysing technical and financial data, and helping ensure that infrastructure investment delivers value for customers, communities and the environment. This position would suit professionals with experience in wastewater modelling, treatment, asset management, engineering, or data analysis, particularly those looking to apply their technical expertise within a regulatory or strategic environment. About the Client Our client is a leading regulatory organisation responsible for overseeing the performance, investment and long-term sustainability of the water sector in England and Wales. Working closely with government departments, environmental regulators and industry stakeholders, the organisation plays a critical role in ensuring that water companies deliver efficient services, environmental improvements and long-term infrastructure resilience. Key Responsibilities Assess wastewater and bioresources investment proposals and expenditure plans Engage with water companies, regulators and industry stakeholders Support the delivery of regulatory cost assessment programmes Analyse technical and financial data to support evidence-based decisions Contribute to policy development and regulatory frameworks Review company business plans and investment proposals Develop benchmarking models and analytical approaches Produce technical documentation and reports Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences Collaborate with internal teams across policy, engineering and analysis functions What Our Client is Looking For Previous experience within the UK water sector Experience working in wastewater networks, wastewater treatment, or bioresources Background in engineering, science, asset management, capital programmes or data analysis Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience interpreting complex datasets Ability to evaluate technical proposals and challenge assumptions Experience supporting procedures, processes or regulatory frameworks Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to present technical findings clearly to varied audiences Ability to work independently while contributing to wider team objectives What Our Client Offers Competitive salary based on experience Exceptional employer pension contribution of approximately 29% Hybrid and flexible working arrangements Generous annual leave allowance Professional membership support Career development and training opportunities Health and wellbeing initiatives Volunteering opportunities Employee recognition schemes The employer pension contribution is significantly higher than most private sector organisations, making this an extremely attractive long-term financial benefit.
