Senior Buyer Hampshire Up to £48,000 + Package An established and highly regarded civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team on a major long-term infrastructure project. This is a key role within a growing procurement function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of supplier performance, influence procurement strategy, and support the delivery of high-profile projects across the South. Senior Buyer - Salary & Benefits Salary up to £48,000 (DOE) 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays Pension scheme (up to 10% employer contribution) Private healthcare Company phone Annual discretionary bonus Long-term project pipeline & career progression Senior Buyer - Job Overview Lead procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services across live projects and tenders Identify and develop new suppliers to ensure a competitive and resilient supply chain Negotiate commercial terms to achieve best value and mitigate risk Support and mentor Buyers, contributing to the day-to-day running of the procurement team Extract and manage procurement schedules from technical drawings and contract documentation Work closely with Contracts, Estimating, and Site Teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services Attend contract handover meetings and support early-stage procurement strategy Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with QHSE and project requirements Produce cost analysis, value engineering, and lifecycle cost reporting for senior stakeholders Senior Buyer - Requirements Proven experience in a Buyer / Senior Buyer role within civil engineering or construction Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively Experience procuring materials, plant, and subcontract services on infrastructure projects Commercially astute with strong analytical and reporting capabilities Experience mentoring or supporting junior procurement staff Good understanding of QHSE standards and compliance requirements Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g. Procore, EVision or similar) CIPS membership (or working towards) - desirable Full UK driving licence Why Apply?
