Senior children's residential support worker
About the Role
As a Senior Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people within a residential setting, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and emotional support are maintained at all times. You will lead shifts, support staff members, and help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support the staff team during shifts
• Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people
• Promote positive outcomes and independence
• Maintain safeguarding and care standards in line with company policies
• Support care planning, documentation, and daily routines
• Build positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals
Essential Requirements
• Minimum 6 months’ experience working as a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader within a children’s residential setting
• Experience supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent) essential
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Full UK driving licence desirable
