Senior Civil Engineer

Farrans Construction is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join the team in Galway, playing a key role in delivering high-quality work on site while ensuring projects run safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The Role
This is a site-focused position where you’ll be responsible for quality assurance, technical delivery, and supporting day-to-day operations.
You’ll work closely with the Site Agent, engineers, and supervisors to keep projects on track, solve technical challenges, and ensure everything is delivered on time and within budget.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage site engineers and support the Site Agent and supervisors with the day to day running of the site
Support the site agent to deliver exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance
Responsible for quality control, understanding of specifications, and DWI requirements.
Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered
Take a proactive approach to resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
You should have demonstrable (5 years) of experience of being part of a large-scale infrastructure programmes of work ideally within the water sector.
Strong understanding of construction methods, regulations, and Health & Safety
Valid CSCS/CSR card
Full UK driving licence
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to plan ahead and effectively delegate to engineering teams
