The company delivers high-quality civils and groundworks packages on a variety of building projects across the South West. With a strong pipeline of secured work in Bristol, Somerset, and North Devon, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor offering long-term stability and career progression. The Opportunity As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial performance of civils and groundworks packages across multiple building projects, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. Typical projects include: • Groundworks for residential developments • Infrastructure and enabling works for building sites • Civils and external works for commercial buildings • Roads, drainage, foundations, and site infrastructure Projects are primarily across Bristol, Somerset, and North Devon, making this role ideal for candidates based in the South West. Key Responsibilities • Manage the commercial performance of multiple civils and groundworks packages • Prepare valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts • Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractors • Handle variations, change control, and final accounts • Support operational teams to ensure cost control and commercial success • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams • Ensure projects remain on budget and commercially profitable About You • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or groundworks • Experience working on civils and groundworks packages for residential, commercial, or infrastructure building projects • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills • Good understanding of construction contracts (NEC / JCT preferred) • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Full UK driving licence Salary & Benefits • £60,000 – £70,000 salary • Company car or car allowance • Pension scheme • Strong pipeline of South West civils and groundworks projects • Long-term career progression opportunities • Supportive commercial leadership team Please apply to Hazel Baron through the website
