Senior CNC Operator

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist on behalf of a long-established manufacturing business with a strong reputation for engineering excellence. The company specialises in the manufacture of optical and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation supplied to customers worldwide.

Salary £38,000 Per Annum

Hours Rotating Shift Pattern

* Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm

* Monday – Friday 2:00pm – 10:00pm

The Role

* Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines including Mazak machining centres

* Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines including Matsuura machining centres

* Creating, proving out, editing, and optimising CNC programs

* Producing complex components from first-off through to production

* Selecting tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds for machining operations

* Troubleshooting machining, tooling, and programming issues

* Supporting junior machinists and operators where required

* Contributing to continuous improvement and production efficiency

* Maintaining machines and ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed

* Operating machinery to maximise production output

* Maintaining tooling within the machine shop

* Carrying out machine maintenance and cleaning

* Working to company standards and procedures at all times

* Promoting teamwork and a positive working environment

Requirements

* Previous CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment

* Ability to program, set, and operate CNC turning and milling machines

* Experience with Mazak and Matsuura machinery preferred

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

* Positive and proactive attitude

* Commitment to quality and Health & Safety standards
