Senior Construction Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Project Manager to plan, schedule, and oversee all phases of construction projects
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
Manage risk, quality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
Lead the site teams including subcontractors and direct labour
Enforce site safety, security protocols, and environmental standards
Maintain daily site logs and progress reports.
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities
Ensure all permits, licenses, and security protocols are adhered to
Communicate effectively with secure facility management and security personnel
Manage budgets, cost estimates, and procurement plans
Order materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance in consultation with the procurement team
Ensure adherence to project scope, health and safety regulations, and secure environment protocols
Maintain accurate records, including risk assessments, method statements, and handover documentation
Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:
Have a degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Experience in defence, or other secure construction environment
Proven experience as a Construction Manager, ideally within secure or high-risk environments
Trades background considered
Solid understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and delivery risks
Eligible for, or holding, UK Security Clearance
Proficiency in SharePoint and business systems
Strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and project management
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
CSCS Black Card or equivalent
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 DOE
