Senior Construction Planner Bristol (Hybrid with 1 day/week on site) £60,000 – £80,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits We are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading Tier 1 main contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Construction Planner to join their established team in Bristol. This is a key role within a busy, high-performing planning department, supporting a strong pipeline of major construction projects across the South West and beyond. Our client is currently tendering actively, with 4-5 significant tenders expected in the next 6 months, delivering schemes valued between £50 million and £200 million+. Projects may be located anywhere within approximately 100 miles of Bristol. About the Role As a Senior Construction Planner, you will take full ownership of programme development from concept through to execution. You will work closely with the project delivery teams to produce realistic, buildable programmes that reflect true construction sequencing and durations. Key responsibilities include: Leading the production of tender programmes Preparing Bills of Quantities Developing scaffold schedules Creating comprehensive programmes from initial drawings and specifications Understanding and applying realistic construction timelines and build sequences Supporting live projects and contributing to programme updates, risk analysis, and progress reporting This is not a pure software-focused role — we are seeking someone with deep construction knowledge who truly understands how buildings come together on site and takes genuine pride in delivering high-quality, invested planning work. What We're Looking For Minimum 10 years' experience as a Construction Planner on major building/main contracting projects Strong practical understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and build durations A construction-related degree (or equivalent qualification) is highly desirable Experience producing Bills of Quantities, scaffold schedules, and full tender programmes Pride in your work and a proactive, invested approach to the schemes you support Familiarity with Primavera P6 is beneficial but not essential — construction insight is the priority Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams Full UK driving licence (due to site travel requirements) Location & Working Arrangement Based in Bristol offices Hybrid working available Expectation of one day per week on site (projects within ~100 miles radius) Package Competitive salary: £60,000 – £80,000 (highly negotiable depending on experience) Car allowance: £450 per month Holiday: 26 days per year starting, increasing to 30 days over time Pension: 6% employee contribution with generous 8% employer contribution Additional benefits (to be discussed) If you are a hands-on, construction-passionate Senior Planner looking for your next challenge with a respected Tier 1 contractor and a solid forward workload, we would love to hear from you.
