Contracts Manager | Social Housing & Procurement Specialist Location: Norwich, £55,000 Salary package, Hybrid working and early Friday Finish With the Greater Norwich Local Plan aiming for over 45,000 new homes by 2038, the regional focus on social housing and infrastructure has never been sharper. If you’ve spent your career navigating the complexities of Quantity Surveying and JCT contracts within the Norfolk and Suffolk pan, you know that the "devil is in the detail" of the procurement process. I am currently representing a niche, highly respected procurement specialist based in the heart of Norwich. They aren't your typical sprawling consultancy; they are a lean, expert team that acts as the vital bridge between local authorities, housing associations, and contractors. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a spreadsheet all day. It’s a technical, relationship-driven position where your QS background will be your greatest asset. You will: Use specialist internal tools to assist in drafting and refining JCT contracts that protect both the client and the project. Review contractor rates with a surveyor’s eye to ensure value for money and delivery viability. Step into the fray to resolve disputes between clients and contractors, using your industry knowledge to find pragmatic solutions. Split your time between high-level Teams consultations and in-person review meetings across the region. The Work-Life Balance In an industry known for "burnout hours," a refreshingly structured approach is the norm! 4 days in a modern Norwich office (with free parking), 1 day working from home. Flexibility: Choose between a 07:45 – 16:00 or 08:45 – 17:00 start to beat the A47 or Postwick Hub traffic. The Friday Bonus: The office closes 30 minutes early every Friday—giving you a head start on the weekend, whether you’re heading to the coast or Carrow Road. What You’ll Need A solid background in Quantity Surveying (essential). Working knowledge of JCT Contracts and their application. Experience within the Social Housing sector (highly preferred). The ability to secure future works by providing an exceptional, reliable service to a loyal client base. Why apply through me? I have spent over 25 years recruiting specifically within the Building Consultancy sector across East Anglia. I’m not just a voice on the phone; I’ve worked with the senior leadership team at this specific organisation for years. By applying through an independent local specialist, you get: Insider Insight: I can talk you through the office culture and the specific personalities of the team you’ll be joining. Project Context: I can provide details on the specific frameworks and regional projects they have in the pipeline. Direct Access: Your CV won’t sit in a generic inbox; it goes directly to the decision-makers I’ve known for two decades. Ready for a move that offers local impact without the London commute?
