Senior Design Manager / Lead

PSR Rail Team are recruiting for a Permanent Senior Design Manager / Lead to be based on projects in the South East of England. This will be working on multiple Rail, Civils, M&E projects. Please see more infor below! The Role As a Senior Design Manager / Design Lead, you will take ownership of the design process from concept through to delivery. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams, manage stakeholder engagement, and ensure all design outputs meet quality, cost, and programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the full design lifecycle across multiple projects Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams (internal and external) Act as the primary interface between design, project delivery, and clients Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements Drive value engineering, innovation, and risk mitigation in design solutions Manage design programmes, budgets, and resource allocation Review and approve technical documentation and design deliverables Support tendering and bid development activities About You Proven experience in a Senior Design Manager, Design Lead, or similar role Strong background in engineering (e.g., electrical, mechanical, or civil) Experience delivering complex infrastructure or energy projects Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., BEng, MEng, or equivalent) Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE, IET, IMechE, or CIOB) Strong knowledge of industry standards and design assurance processes (e.g., ISO 9001, CDM Regulations) Experience with design management tools and common data environments (e.g., BIM, CAD, or similar platforms) Relevant health & safety qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, NEBOSH, or equivalent) desirable What We Offer Opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects Career progression within a growing organisation Collaborative and forward-thinking working environment Competitive salary and benefits package Please contract Dan Confrey at PSR Solutions for more information
