Senior Electrical Engineer

Salary: Up to £53,000 + Package
Hours: Monday to Friday – Days
About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing multi-site manufacturing business based in Bridgwater. The company is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of production equipment. You will ensure machinery is maintained safely, efficiently, and reliably, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives alongside the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and carry out hands-on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on production machinery
Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the company’s high standards
Supervise and support engineers and external contractors during maintenance activities
Conduct thorough post-maintenance checks and ensure safe handover of equipment to production
Identify faults, defects, or follow-up work and escalate appropriately to prevent unplanned downtime
Plan and prepare for upcoming PPMs, ensuring tools, materials, permits, and documentation are ready
Collaborate with the TPM Manager to refine and improve maintenance procedures
Support wider engineering activities including reactive maintenance, installations, and continuous improvement projects
Candidate Requirements
Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven experience executing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Ability to fault-find, repair, and maintain production equipment (motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, control systems)
Knowledge of safe systems of work, including LOTO, permits, and isolations
Experience using maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS)
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering
Electrical qualifications including 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable but not essential)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Excellent communication and organisational skills

Salary up to £53,000
