Senior Geotechnical Engineer Manchester £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on more responsibility within a supportive and technically strong environment. The role will involve working across a range of infrastructure, commercial, and residential developments throughout the UK, supporting projects from initial site investigation through to detailed design and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Managing and delivering geotechnical and ground investigation projects Producing and reviewing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports Geotechnical design including foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks Supervising site investigations including logging soil and rock in accordance with BS 5930 Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their technical development Liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams Contributing to proposals, tenders, and project planning Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline Around 5-8 years' experience within geotechnical or ground engineering consultancy Strong report writing and interpretation skills Experience with foundation design and geotechnical assessments Working knowledge of UK standards including Eurocode 7 Ideally working towards ICE or Geological Society of London chartership Benefits: Competitive salary and annual bonus Flexible working options Support towards chartership Clear progression into Principal level Exposure to a wide range of technically interesting projects This role would suit a Senior Geotechnical Engineer looking to progress their career within a respected consultancy that offers strong technical support and long-term career development
