The basics:
Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Metal Fabrications
Location: Near Heanor - Fridays work from home
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm (Mon to Thurs office based and Fridays work from home)
Holidays: 33 days
Benefits: 6% pension and Westfield Healthcare
Structure of design team: 14 team members
Software/cad package used: Autodesk Inventor
Overview:
We now require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. Working in purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture bespoke metal fabrications with processes such as - sheet metal, welding and fabrication and machining.
Breif overview - duties
Lead engineering activities on major contracts, overseeing assigned Design Engineers.
Accountable to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for the mechanical design and integrity of the company's products.
Demonstrate leadership within the mechanical discipline and uphold the highest professional engineering standards.
Identify and implement design and process improvements across the department and wider business.
Collaborate with internal departments to achieve business and departmental objectives.
Act as the primary technical contact for external design resources and queries.
Mentor, supervise, and support the ongoing development of junior engineers.The ideal candidate/ Senior Mechanical Design Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
Previous experience working with sheet metal fabricated components
Educated to degree level in design, engineering or similar - mechanical engineering.Commutable from:
Heanor, Ripley, Derby, Nottingham, Alfreton and surrounding areas
