Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a market leading manufacturer, seeks to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their Leeds facility. You'll be designing and developing a wide range of mechanical products from initial concept through to finished design. The appointed Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be well qualified (degree preferred, but HNC / HND and experience in industry fine too) and have at least fives years' experience of 3D CAD design software. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Role & Responsibilities – Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer / CAD

- Review new product requests and write project/product specifications and create project plans
- Generate product designs and CAD models, including calculations/analysis both by hand and with the assistance of computer software
- Preparation of manufacturing detail drawings, assembly drawings, schematics and BOMs
- Create test specifications and work with other R&D team members to assemble, test and examine prototype products
- Assist the Sales and Operations departments as required to ensure that customer expectations

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Candidate Profile – Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer / CAD

- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
- Experienced with 2D and 3D CAD - AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or equivalent
- Aware of modern manufacturing techniques and materials
- Experience designing complex mechanical pars (hydraulics, pneumatics, pressure related systems)
- Good Communication Skills with customers and suppliers
