Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineer role
Within the role you will:
Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion
Act as a key client interface, building and maintaining strong working relationships
Develop design briefs, project-specific criteria, and cost-effective engineering solutions
Oversee tender processes, budgets, and commercial aspects of project delivery
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality of design and installation
Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Strong experience in mechanical design within the Building Services sector
Proven ability to manage projects and lead design delivery
Knowledge of current British Standards and industry regulations
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to produce and review technical calculations, drawings, and specifications
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination within construction projects
Personal skills
The Senior Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who is:

Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets and scope
Highly organised and capable of handling multiple projects
